Feb. 12-14: Gorgeous Torres del Paine NP, Argentina

Grey Lake (Lago Grey) is a glacier-fed lake in Chile’s Torres del Paine National Park, famous for its stunning turquoise water, floating icebergs from the Grey Glacier, and dramatic mountain scenery.

It's a popular destination for activities like kayaking, boat tours, and hiking, offering close-up views of the glacier and the surrounding Patagonian landscape. The lake's distinctive color comes from glacial silt, and the icebergs' blue hues are due to compressed ice absorbing red light.
Key Features
  • Location: Western part of Torres del Paine National Park, Patagonia, Chile.
  • Source: Fed by the Grey Glacier, which originates from the Southern Patagonian Ice Field.
  • Appearance: Turquoise-gray water with large, blue icebergs that calve from the glacier.
  • Activities: Boat tours, kayaking, canoeing, and hiking along the lake's shore.
  • Wildlife: Home to Andean condors, guanacos, and South Andean deer.
