My First Trip to South America

I'm very excited to be taking another trip with OAT (Overseas Adventure Travel), this time to explore the Patagonian regions of Argentina and Chile. Why Patagonia? On my Mediterranean cruise last summer, our trip leader was a terrific guy named Gabo Candel. I loved working with him and he runs a great trip. He lives in Buenos Aires and he turned me on to the idea of visiting Patagonia, as he runs summer trips there during our winter. I coordinated with him to nail down his trip dates and signed up to again travel with Gabo and fourteen other lucky people.

Below is a map showing the design of this trip, courtesy of OAT. (Ignore the Pre- and Post- trip extension boxes; they were not offered on this trip.) I'm also excited to be able to establish a new "farthest southern point" in my travels: Punto Arenas, Chile (53 degrees south). My previous southernmost point was only 45.4 degrees south on the South Island of New Zealand in 2023.
Here are photos of some of the expected highlights, all from the OAT website:

If you're interested in following along with me on this trip, just bookmark this page in your browser, and then check the links below every few days after Feb. 1st. Each location page should link to the next page. (I'm not planning on sending out multiple emails to remind people that I have published, as I don't want to be a pest to those not interested/not following.)

I'm also on WhatsApp (JayLyons) and Signal under my phone number. And I always appreciate any comments you might have.
